Our Favourite Moments of 2024

Some incredibly special and exciting moments made 2024 such a fantastic year for Skern Lodge. We're reminding ourselves of all we achieved and looking ahead to another enlightening and rewarding year of adventure.

Firstly, a huge thanks to all of our excitable guests who joined us from primary and secondary schools, and a huge variety of groups from sports tours and fieldwork students to college groups and participants of STS’ developmental courses. As well as all the brilliant families who had the ultimate adventure together. We hosted over 370 adventures, held Adventure Club days, and a whopping 113 outdoor developmental sessions. We had a blast!

We’re also super proud of our in-house instructor team who gained around 60 new qualifications in 2024, including Beach Lifeguard, Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI), Safeguarding, First Aid and more. In addition, we welcomed a cohort of outstanding apprentices who completed their catering and instructor apprenticeships.

Add to all of that, our never-ending passion for our environment and beyond. We are thrilled that our team at Skern planted over 600 trees around the site. We also hosted Appledore Book Festival, and ended the year with a fantastic customer review score of 9.5 on camping website, PitchUp. Thanks to all who came to Skern Lodge, and we can't wait to welcome our 2025 guests.
